Cleaning The Graphic Card

Today, I want to share on how I clean my computer’s graphic card or display card or AGP card or PCIE or whatever it is.

Problem:

1. The fan and the heat sink of the graphic card are very dusty and dirty.

2. Sometime there was a long beeeepppp sound at the beginning of starting the computer and the monitor had no display after that. The temporary solution was by pushed the graphic card left and right a little. The problem will come again a few days later.

Cleaning:

1. This is my computer’s graphic card the 2 years old Gigabyte GeForce 9600GT with 512MB DDR3.

2. The heat sink and the fan are very dusty because I never clean them before.

3. I use the tooth-brush to clean the heat sink and the fan. The tooth-brush also can be used to clean the CPU fan and its heat sink.

4. The second part is to clean the connectors. The dirty connectors are the cause of the no-display problem.

5. The connectors are cleaned by the pencil eraser like how I did with the problematic RAM which you can read it in the previous article.

6.Finally, put the graphic card back in the case, and it’s done!

Now, the graphic card is clean and no more no-display problem. :)
